How NEXT-LIFE handles your data, the third parties involved, and the rights you have.
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is Niels Divoux, Rue D'en Haut 58, 1143 Apples, Switzerland (Niels Divoux).
For any privacy request you can contact Niels Divoux or support.nextlife@gmail.com.
Gameplay & settings: your progress and preferences are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). If you do not create an account they are not transmitted to us.
Account data (optional): if you register, we process your email address and a securely hashed password, or the basic Google profile you authorize (name, email, picture). Cloud saves store your game state so you can restore it across devices.
Purchase data: if you buy something, our payment provider processes the email and payment details needed to complete it; we retain a record of the order and entitlement, not your card number.
Support data: messages you send us and the address you use to send them.
We process data to run the game and save your progress (performance of a contract / your request), to process purchases and prevent fraud (contract and our legitimate interest and legal obligations), to provide support (legitimate interest), and to use optional analytics, advertising or the AI assistant only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
You can withdraw consent at any time from the privacy preferences, without affecting processing already carried out.
Payments — Stripe: card details are handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy and are never stored on our servers.
Sign-in — Google: if you choose Google Sign-In, Google processes the authentication and shares the basic profile you authorize.
Cloud storage — Upstash: optional account sessions and cloud saves are stored with our hosting/database provider (Upstash).
Email — our transactional email provider sends verification and password-reset messages (this feature is currently disabled until configured).
AI — OpenAI: the optional NEO assistant can use OpenAI for open-ended replies. This is currently DISABLED; see the AI Notice for how it works and is minimized when enabled.
Advertising & measurement — Google AdSense / Tag Manager: used to show ads and measure the game only if you consent. Advertising is currently ENABLED and loads only after you grant advertising consent.
Some processors may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and applicable adequacy frameworks. Details: Niels Divoux.
Local game data stays on your device until you clear it. Account and cloud-save data are kept while your account exists and then deleted or anonymized. Purchase and tax records are kept as required by law. Concrete periods: limited to what each purpose and the law require: account and cloud-save data are deleted within 90 days of account closure, while purchase and accounting records are kept for 10 years as Swiss law requires.
Subject to applicable law (e.g. the EU/UK GDPR), you may access, correct, delete, export, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Bern).
Because gameplay data lives on your device, you control it directly. In-game you can export and permanently delete your account and cloud data from your account settings; for purchase data held by us or Stripe, contact us and we will help.
We use essential browser storage to save your game, preferences and sign-in session. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with your consent, and are set only after you grant it. See the Cookie Policy.
The game is not directed to children below the age of digital consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect their personal data; if you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
We will update this policy as the game evolves and post the new date above. For any question or to exercise your rights, contact Niels Divoux or support.nextlife@gmail.com.
